A Small Museum Used This to Engage Visitors And You’ll Never Believe Their Reaction

How do you get younger people excited to learn about engineering and technology? It can be hard when today’s visitors are distracted by a constant stream of texts and messages from their mobile devices.

The Rolls Royce Heritage Trust Exhibition (RRHT) in Indianapolis, Indiana, found the answer to this problem — they use technology itself to engage people.

Their secret weapon is Guide by Cell’s audio tours.

After receiving feedback from college students about how to improve exhibits, “we were looking for another option to engage people and everyone has a cellphone,” says Advisor and Volunteer for the Rolls Royce Heritage Trust, David Newill.

For years Guide by Cell has partnered with museums to bring their exhibits to life. Newill reports, “We’ve had a lot of support from Guide by Cell and when I tell people about the audio tours they say it’s cool.”

Guide by Cell is also one of the easiest ways to track your daily attendance numbers, “something the simple sign-in sheet does poorly,” says Newill.

Mobile technology is one of the best ways to engage visitors of all ages.
