How can museums, galleries, and historic sites provide visitors with a fresh, interactive experience? For exhibitions everywhere, including the work of humanitarian photographer Laura Pohl, the answer is mobile.
“I know it really made a difference,” says Pohl in reference to Guide by Cell’s audio tour technology. In her photography exhibit, A Long Separation, visitors used smartphones to listen to personal stories of South Koreans separated from their families since the Korean War.
“It helped visitors experience the exhibition in a more visceral way,” reports Pohl.
After seeing big-name clients listed on the Guide by Cell website, Pohl was concerned that a mobile audio tour would be too expensive. “It turned out it is quite affordable,” Pohl commented.
Mobile technology eliminates the need for expensive signage and allows your visitors to experience art in a more personal way.
